Ama Dablam is given an alpine grade of AD. The route is steep and
exposed, but on the rock climbing sections the rock is good, with big
holds over long drops. The snow/ice is at most grade 3. The route is
fixed, so on all challenging sections there are ropes in place. The
challenge is more psychological than technical for a fit climber.
