The team have had bad weather for the last little while, which is why there hasn't been any news. They have just been sitting tight and waiting it out. There was snow and high winds, so theboys retreated back down to ABC to while away the time eating, drinking (tea!) and playing cards. The sun has now at last come out and the snow has consolidated enough for the Sherpas to go back up the hill. They are going to camp 2 tomorrow to put up tents there. The climbers are going to camp 1 tomorrow, and then probably camp 2 on Monday. It is still quite windy, so we are monitoring the weather situation. We are hoping to have a summit attempt this week, as the weather forecast is not good from the beginning of October - so it's now or never! Watch this space and I will keep you posted as well as I can of the team's progress.
Oh and yes, most importantly everyone is fit, well and healthy, and sends their love to everyone at home. They are looking forward to being back with you soon. |
